AMMAN, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Jordan said on Sunday that it was following up on the situation of Jordanian prisoners in Israeli jails as the kingdom's top priority.
Sufian Qudah, spokesman of Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the ministry was in direct communication with the families of the prisoners to reassure them about the situation of their jailed relatives.
"Visits by the families of the Jordanians jailed in Israel are ongoing and the ministry has arranged several visits for the families of the prisoners," he added.
There are around 13 Jordanian prisoners in Israel.
Jordan signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1994, the second Arab state to do so after Egypt. Enditem
