TOKYO, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks increased slightly on Monday with no clear direction due to thin trading with overseas markets closed for Easter holidays and the wait-and-see mood before Japanese earnings reports this week.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 17.34 points, or 0.08 percent, from Friday to 22,217.90.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange ended 1.69 points, or 0.10 percent, higher at 1,618.62.
Gainers were led by mining and marine transportation issues, while decliners included air transportation and consumer credit issues. Enditem
