WASHINGTON, April 22 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump has decided not to reissue the sanctions waivers allowing major importers to continue buying Iran's oil when they expire in early May, said the White House on Monday.
"This decision is intended to bring Iran's oil exports to zero," said the White House in a statement.
The Trump administration snapped back sanctions in November on Iran's banking, energy and shipping industries, which had been lifted under the historic 2015 Iran nuke deal. Meanwhile, Washington has granted 180-day waivers to Iran's eight major buyers. Enditem
