MANILA -- The Philippines hosted on Monday the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Manila Conference that aims to further strengthen regional cooperation in Asia through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Li Baodong, secretary general of the BFA, said the conference was the first-ever event held in the Philippines by the BFA, though the forum has been linked with the Philippines from the very beginning. (Philippines-Boao Forum)

ISLAMABAD -- The Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a four-day severe weather alert forecasting widespread dust-thunderstorm and rains associated with strong gusty winds across the country starting from Tuesday, local media reported Monday.

MANILA -- At least six people were killed after a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Philippine main Luzon island on Monday afternoon, local media reported.
