SINGAPORE, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.27 percent, or 8.96 points, to close at 3,362.43.
A total of 1.17 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.08 billion Singapore dollars (about 794.88 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 204 to 168.
The STI index went down 0.13 percent, or 4.23 points, to close at 3,353.47 Tuesday. Enditem
