DUSHANBE -- Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a new model of international cooperation.

COLOMBO -- Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has asked the country's Police Chief Pujith Jayasundara and Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando to resign following serious security lapses, which led to Sunday's explosions, an official close to the president told Xinhua on Wednesday.

DAMASCUS -- At least six Syrian government forces were killed Wednesday when the rebels launched a surprise attack in the central province of Hama, a war monitor reported.
