RABAT, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan government will raise public servants' monthly wage by 40 to 50 U.S. dollars over three years under an agreement signed Thursday night.

The deal was signed by the government with three largest labour unions and the major employers' association.

The pay rise will be distributed in phases over 18 months, the first being in May, the second in January 2020, and the third in January 2021.

The government will also increase the family allowances by 10 dollars for each of the three first children of the families both in the public and private sectors.

The three parties also agreed to raise the minimum wage by 10 percent over two years for workers in private companies in the sectors of agriculture, industry, commerce and service.

The signing of this agreement came after years of negotiations and just a few days before the Labour Day on May 1. Enditem
