-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has urged stakeholders to fully explore the opportunity of medical tourism which his government is promoting.
Lungu said medical tourism has a hug potential to enhance patients' care, staff development and training and research. (Zambia Daily Mail)
-- The Zambian government may says it may consider voluntary repatriation for Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) asylum seekers following the restoration of peace in that country.
Minister of Home Affairs Stephen Kampyongo however said the government would not force the asylum seekers but would follow the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) guidelines. (Times of Zambia)
-- The Zambia government has been urged to engage successful emeralds mining firms to recapitalize the emeralds sector, an industry body has said.
Victor Kalesha, president of the Emerald and Semi-Precious Stones Mining Association of Zambia said there was too much untapped potential in the emerald sector that needed to be utilized for the development of the country. (Daily Nation)
