MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed flat on a negative note Tuesday.

Among the sectors, PSU bank declined more than three percent followed by auto, FMCG, infra and pharma, while some buying was seen in the energy, IT and metal indices.

BANGKOK -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index Tuesday moved up 6.84 points, or 0.41 percent to close at 1,673.52 points.

Some 11.31 billion shares worth 44.81 billion baht (about 1.41 billion U.S. dollars) changed hands.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended higher here on Tuesday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1.642.29, up 4.89 points or 0.30 percent, and the Emas was at 11,652.84, up 20.18 points or 0.17 percent.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand stock market increased slightly on Tuesday, capping a 1.8 percent gain for April.

The S&P/NZX 50 Index gained 1.06 points, or 0.01 percent, to 10,013.83 on Tuesday. Within the index, 23 stocks rose, 22 fell, and five were unchanged. Turnover was 195.2 million New Zealand dollars, of which Trade Me Group accounted for 42.4 million dollars.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.2 percent, or 6.82 points, to close at 3,400.2.

A total of 911.33 million shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.26 billion Singapore dollars (about 926.04 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 239 to 153.

VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market closed on Tuesday with an decrease of 1.86 percent compared to the previous trading day.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) lost 12.84 points, or 0.58 percent, to settle at 2,203.59. Trading volume stood at 375 million shares worth 5.6 trillion won (4.8 billion U.S. dollars).

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market finished lower on Tuesday with energy and mining companies plummeting on mixed commodity prices.
