Ukraine, Azerbaijan discuss defense cooperation

KIEV, May 2 (Xinhua) -- The head of Ukraine's state defense conglomerate Ukroboronprom Pavlo Bukin and the Deputy Defense Industry Minister of Azerbaijan Yahya Musayev have discussed bilateral cooperation in the defense sector, Ukroboronprom press service said on Thursday in a statement.
During the meeting at the 2019 International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF), which runs from Tuesday to Friday in Istanbul, Turkey, Bukin and Musayev discussed the participation of Ukroboronprom in the ammunition program of Azerbaijan.
In particular, they exchanged views on the prospects for Ukroboronprom to produce certain components for ground artillery munitions made by Azerbaijan.
The parties also discussed prospects for the mutual exchange of technologies and possible purchases of Azerbaijani-produced close combat weapon and equipment by Ukroboronprom.
