TUNIS, May 2 (Xinhua) -- The Tunisian and French naval forces completed a joint military exercise off Bizerte coast in northeastern Tunisia, the defense ministry said on Thursday.

According to a ministry statement, the joint exercise was held from April 25 to May 1, with the participation of the naval diving teams from both sides, the French ship "Pluton" and a Tunisian diving boat.

"This exercise aims to improve military diving know-how and share experiences between both countries' navies," it said.

The Tunisian navy is continuing to intensify its military exercises with a number of partner countries, the last of which was with the United States Navy.

Under the name "AFRICAN LION 19," the Tunisian-U.S. drill took place from March 22 to April 4 this year inside Tunisian territorial waters. Enditem
