HARARE, May 6 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zimbabwe's major media outlets on Monday.

-- The Zimbabwean government on Sunday gave National Pharmaceutical Company (NatPharm) directors a one-week ultimatum to disburse to various health institutions across the country medicine stockpiled at the firm's Harare warehouse or risk losing their jobs.

The ultimatum followed a fact-finding visit last week by First Lady Cde Auxillia Mnangagwa where she slammed NatPharm for withholding medicines at a time when patients were failing to access drugs. (The Herald)

-- Zimbabwe's First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa on Saturday stood up scores of Beitbridge civil servants and her ruling ZANU-PF party supporters gathered for what has become a traditional national clean-up exercise recently launched by her husband, President Emmerson Mnangagwa. (NewsDay)

-- Gweru Urban legislator Brian Dube (MDC Alliance) has urged the government to swiftly avail funds for de-siltation of the city's largest water source, Gwenoro Dam, as well as facilitate construction of alternative sources of water.

This follows revelations by the city council that the dam is left with only 30 percent water supplies and will be effectively decommissioned later this year. (NewsDay) Enditem
