SINGAPORE, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.67 percent, or 21.90 points, to close at 3,312.52.
A total of 1.05 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.15 billion Singapore dollars (about 0.84 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 142 to 279.
The STI index went down 3 percent, or 101.67 points, to close at 3,290.62 on Monday. Enditem
