BUDAPEST, May 7 (Xinhua) -- The Hungarian National Toll Payment Services PLS (NUSZ) presented its latest technology here on Tuesday, used to further expand the control of toll usage rights on the highways.

"The new system tested since February expands our control capabilities of vehicles over 3.5 tons," Tamas Bartal, Chief Executive Officer of NUSZ, told journalists.

"The new system developed takes video on the move from a moving vehicle with the most up-to-date smart camera, equipped with ANPR (Automatic Number-Plate Recognition), and the data processed with the state-of-the-art software is directly transmitted to the police," Bartak added.

In the recent months, more and more trucks have been spotted on Hungarian roads that were equipped with devices that were able to retract or hide the vehicles' license plates.

"The development is entirely made in Hungary, using the most modern hardware and software of ARH inc," Bartal explained, adding that their rate of success was so high, that NUSZ considered exporting its new system to other countries.

The mobile system fills the loopholes that were created when the fixed-cam control vehicles of NUSZ, placed all over the country, switched places to go to new locations, the CEO explained.

Thanks to the new development, the catch rate of fraudulent users increased from 0.5 percent to 2 percent, according to NUSZ numbers.

Bartal concluded by saying that the system was currently being tested to be implemented onto personal vehicles as well. Enditem
