HOUSTON, May 8 (Xinhua) -- U.S. crude oil refinery inputs decreased during the week ending May 3, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said Wednesday.

According to EIA's data, U.S. crude oil refinery inputs averaged 16.4 million barrels per day (b/d) last week, 41,000 b/d less than the previous week's average. U.S. refineries operated at 88.9 percent of their operable capacity.

Gasoline production increased last week, averaging 10.1 million b/d, while distillate fuel production decreased last week, averaging 5.1 million b/d.

Total products supplied over the past four-week period averaged 20.2 million b/d, down by 0.3 percent from the same period last year.

Over the past four weeks, motor gasoline product supplied averaged 9.5 million b/d, up by 0.3 percent from the same period last year. Distillate fuel product supplied averaged 3.8 million b/d over the past four weeks, down by 9.7 percent from the same period last year.
