TOKYO, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Thursday tracking declines in U.S. shares overnight, as investors' concerns about the outlook for the global economy intensified.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 200.46 points, or 0.93 percent, from Wednesday to close the day at 21,402.13.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 21.62 points, or 1.38 percent, to finish at 1,550.71.
Farm and fishery, electric power and gas, and marine transportation-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play. Enditem
