TOKYO, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Friday morning as investors bought on dips after recent declines, but the market mood remained wary amid concerns over the outlook for the global economy.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 143.59 points, or 0.67 percent, from Thursday to 21,545.72.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, rose 12.31 points, or 0.79 percent, at 1,563.02.
Pharmaceutical, machinery, and oil and coal product-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
