Chinese teenage divers suffer setback at FINA world series in Kazan

Kazan, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese teenage divers Wang Zongyuan and Wu Luxian finished bottom of the table in the finals of the men's 3m springboard synchronized event at FINA/CNSG diving world series in Kazan on Friday.

Wang and Wu fell behind from the beginning of the competition. They ranked third after three dives and dropped to the last with 365.73 points while Ukrainian pair Oleksandr Gorshkovozov/Oleg Kolodiy snatched gold in 403.26.

Wang and Wu have participated in World Junior Diving Championships last year when the pair only came fifth in the men's 3m springboard synchronized.

Chinese divers claimed victory in other three competitions in Kazan on Friday.

Yang Hao/Lian Junjie took home a second gold after Montreal in men's 10m platform synchronized with 444.18 as Aleksandr Bondar/Viktor Minibaev from Russia were 41.16 point behind.

Chen Yuxi/Yuan Haoyan collected 338.70 points to dominate the women's 10m platform synchronized. Linshan/Chang Yani took victory in the women's 3m springboard synchronized in 302.01.

The event in Kazan, marking the fourth stop of FINA/CNSG diving world series, will witness another six competitions in the next two days. Enditem
