BRATISLAVA, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Saturday's Group A clash between Denmark and France had to be decided by the first shootout of the Ice Hockey World Championship in Slovakia, where Denmark won by 5-4.
The final drama concluded after Frederik Storm capitalized on his attempt against Damien Fleury.
To the great delight of the fans in Kosice, the duel between Denmark and France produced four goals in each net with four different scorers on each side during regular play.
The highlight of the seesaw scoring fest went to France's Olivier Dame-Malka who surprised Denmark's goalie in the second period with a hard shot from behind the red line in the middle of the ice.
On Sunday, Denmark will face Germany, and France will have to confront the wrath of the stacked roster of the United States who was beaten by the home team of Slovakia on Friday. Enditem
