ISLAMABAD -- At least eight people including three militants, four civilians and a navy person were killed and six others injured when three militants stormed a five-star hotel in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Saturday, a military statement said Sunday.
The suspects attempted entry into Pearl Continental Hotel located in Gwadar district of the province with an aim to target and take hostage the guests in the hotel, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistani military's media wing, said in the statement. (Pakistan-Attack)

KABUL -- Up to 15 Taliban militants, including four foreign insurgents, were killed and four people were arrested in Afghanistan's eastern restive province of Ghazni, authorities confirmed on Sunday.

WELLINGTON -- United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Sunday paid tribute to the "courage and resilience" of New Zealand after the March 15 terrorist attacks in Christchurch and praised the country's leadership role in fighting climate change.

YANGON -- A Myanmar National Airlines plane landed safely at Mandalay airport after suffering a nose wheel failure on Sunday morning, a police officer of the airport told Xinhua.
