TOKYO, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed lower on Monday as the market mood was dampened by growing concern about the outlook for global economy growth amid trade issues.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 153.64 points, or 0.72 percent, from Friday to close the day at 21,191.28.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 8.28 points, or 0.53 percent, to finish at 1,541.14.
Consumer credit, iron and steel, and pulp and paper-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play. Enditem
