KHARTOUM, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Sudan on Monday condemned the acts of sabotage against commercial ships near the territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday.

Sudan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs "rejects any threat to the safety of maritime navigation traffic in the Gulf or any international water passage, and any attempt to threaten the security and stability of the UAE and Saudi Arabia," a ministry statement said.

It voiced Sudan's full support to procedures taken by the UAE and Saudi Arabia to protect their security and safety of the maritime navigation in their regional waters.

On Sunday, the UAE announced that four commercial ships were subjected to "sabotage operations" near the country's territorial waters off the port of Fujairah. Enditem
