RIYADH, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday that two of its oil pipeline booster stations were targeted early in the morning with drones, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Minister of Energy Khalid Al-Falih confirmed in a statement that the attack caused a fire at No. 8 station with limited damage. He said that pipelines transfer oil from the Eastern Province to the western coast.

The State Security Presidency also confirmed the incident and announced that more details would be released later.

Al-Falih expressed Saudi condemnation of the attack, highlighting that the current incident and the recent attack against several ships including two Saudi oil vessels aim to destabilize the international power supply.

He urged for global efforts to confront all terrorist groups that carry out such acts, including the Houthi militias in Yemen that are backed by Iran.

The minister also ensured that the Saudi oil supply and production won't be affected by the attack. Enditem
