JAKARTA, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian national police have worked together with their Malaysian counterparts in investigating two Indonesian nationals, who were nabbed in Malaysia for plotting terrorist attacks, Indonesian police said here on Tuesday.

Fatir and Muhammad Amru Lubis have been under detention of Malaysian police after being arrested for plotting terrorist strikes in Kelang Valley of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, spokesman of Indonesian national police Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo said.

"From the result of coordination between Indonesian police with Kepolisian Diraja Malaysia, there are two Indonesian citizens suspected in plotting a terrorist plot in Malaysia," he said at the police headquarters.

The spokesman said the investigation is aimed at finding out whether the two have affiliation with an outlawed Jemaah Anshorut Daulah (JAD) network which is loyal to the IS group in Iraq and Syria.

"The Densus 88 (Indonesian anti-terror squad) is deepening a probe to find out links of the two with the JAD networks in Indonesia," said Prasetyo.

The two Indonesians were arrested by Malaysian anti-terror squad on May 5 and May 7 along with two refugees from Rankine state of Myanmar.

The JAD's militants had staged several terrorist suicide attacks in Indonesia, including the multiple suicide attacks in East Java and Riau provinces in May 2018, and suicide strikes in a police station and Starbucks Cafe in the heart of Jakarta that killed eight people in January 2016, according to the police.
