U.S.-listed Chinese firms trade mostly higher

NEW YORK, May 14 (Xinhua) -- U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mostly higher on Tuesday with nine of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.

Shares of JD.com and TAL Education climbed 5.29 percent and 4.23 percent respectively, leading the gainers in the top 10 stocks of the index.

Shares of Yum China fell 0.35 percent, the only decliner in the top 10.

U.S. stocks closed higher on Tuesday, rebounding from a steep sell-off in the previous session as investors continued to monitor the latest development of global trade.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 207.06 points, or 0.82 percent, to 25,532.05, the S&P 500 was up 22.54 points, or 0.80 percent, to 2,834.41, and the Nasdaq Composite Index increased 87.47 points, or 1.14 percent, to 7,734.49.

As of Monday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 2,736.47, marking a 9.26-percent decrease for the month-to-date returns and a 19.43-percent gain for the year-to-date returns. Enditem
