TOKYO, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Wednesday in choppy trade, with the benchmark Nikkei stock index snapping a seven-day losing streak owing to solid Chinese equities.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 121.33 points, or 0.58 percent, from Tuesday to close the day at 21,188.56.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 9.17 points, or 0.60 percent, to close at 1,544.15.
Textile and apparel, real estate and electric appliance-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play. Enditem
