BAGHDAD -- The U.S. military said on Wednesday that the U.S. forces are on high alert in Iraq and Syria over fears of "imminent threats" from Iran-backed forces in the region.

RIO DE JANEIRO -- The Sixth Panel of Brazil's Superior Court of Justice granted ex-President Michel Temer temporary release to await trial for corruption.

KHARTOUM -- Sudan's Transitional Military Council (TMC) announced Wednesday that it agreed with the major opposition forces on the main rule structures and duration of the transitional period.
