TEHRAN, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Belgian soccer club Genk has set its sight on signing Iran goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand, Persian Football website reported on Wednesday.

Genk is going to pay 700,000 euros (about 784,000 U.S. dollars) to the Iranian Persepolis club to sign the 26-year-old keeper.

Turkish top-flight soccer teams Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Caykur Rizespor are also interested in signing Beiranvand.

Beiranvand saved a penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo in the match against Portugal in the 2018 World Cup and thrusted his name into the international spotlight. Enditem
