HOUSTON, May 15 (Xinhua) -- U.S. crude oil imports and exports both increased during the week ending May 10, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said Wednesday.
U.S. crude oil imports averaged about 7.6 million barrels per day (b/d) last week, up by 919,000 b/d from the previous week, while crude oil exports averaged about 3.3 million b/d, up by about 1.03 million b/d from the previous week, according to the Weekly Petroleum Status Report.
Over the past four weeks, crude oil imports averaged about 7.2 million b/d, 9.6 percent less than the same four-week period last year, while crude oil exports averaged about 2.7 million b/d, up by 509,750 b/d year-on-year.
According to the EIA's latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, U.S. net imports of crude oil and petroleum products fell from an average of 3.8 million b/d in 2017 to 2.3 million in 2018. The EIA forecasted that the net imports would continue to fall to 1.0 million b/d in 2019. Enditem
