ULAN BATOR, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's foreign trade turnover rose 15.4 percent year on year in the first four months of this year, the country's National Statistics Office (NSA) said Wednesday.

According to the NSA, Mongolia's foreign trade totaled 4.3 billion U.S. dollars in the January-April period. Exports rose 18.2 percent year on year to about 2.5 billion U.S. dollars, while imports increased 11.7 percent to 1.8 billion U.S. dollars.

Most of the export growth came from mineral products, textiles and precious metals jewelry, which accounted for more than 96 percent of total exports, the statistical agency said in a statement.

In the first four months, the landlocked Asian country has traded with a total of 130 countries, the statement added. Enditem
