PHNOM PENH, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen on Thursday rejected a claim that he supported cryptocurrency trading, which is illegally operated by GCG ASIA Co., Ltd.

Hun Sen wrote on his official Facebook page that the GCG ASIA has recently posted his photograph along with his name on its website, claiming that he supported and would be the honor ambassador for GCG Asia open ceremony in Cambodia on May 20, 2019.

"According to the information from the Indonesian Embassy to Cambodia, GCG ASIA is an unscrupulous company and it has been placed in the blacklist," Hun Sen said. "In my status as the prime minister of Cambodia, I deny the information that has been posted on the above-mentioned company's website because it's untrue."

He ordered all relevant authorities to look into the case in order to bring the perpetrators to the court of justice.

Hun Sen also called on citizens as well as domestic and foreign traders to be extra-vigilant and not to buy any currencies that are unauthorized by the Cambodian government. Enditem
