BUJUMBURA -- Nine people were killed and 16 others were injured on Saturday at a mining site in northern Burundi, after a mountain collapsed around midday due to heavy rain, a local official said Sunday.

MANAMA -- The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations commenced enhanced security patrols across the region in international waters on May 18, the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command announced on Sunday.

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi rebels on Sunday said last week's drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities were the beginning of military operations against 300 targets in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Houthi-controlled Saba news agency reported.
