JAKARTA, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's sprinter Lalu Muhammad Zohri set the target of below 10 seconds in the men's 100m at the upcoming IAAF World Championship slated for September 28 to October 6 in Doha, Qatar, a coach said here on Monday.
Applauding Zohri's performance in the recent di Seiko Golden Grand Prix 2019, held in Osaka, Japan, Zohri's coach Eni Nuraeni said that Zohri was capable to improve his record set in final round of Asia athletic championship in Doha last month.
In the Asian championship, Zohri set 10.13 seconds, while in Osaka Zohri can run 0.10 second faster, she said.
"In Doha world championship Zohri may run below 10 seconds. Zohri is an exceptional sprinter," Eni, who was recently awarded as best athletic coach in Asia said.
In Seiko Grand Prix held in Osaka, Japan on Sunday, Zohri finished third with time record of 10.03 seconds after the United States and Japanese sprinters Gatlin Justin and Yoshihide Kiryu who booked 10.00 and 10.01 seconds respectively.
With the results in Seiko Grand Prix, Zohri is qualified to vie in 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Enditem
