HARARE, May 21 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Zimbabwe's major media highlights on Tuesday.
-- The Zimbabwe government has, with effect from Tuesday, slashed Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) bus fares by 50 percent, for both urban and rural trips, a situation that will see urban travelers paying 50 RTGS cents from 1 RTGS dollar for distances within a 20km radius.
A distance of up to 30km has now been pegged at 75 cents, from 1.50 RTGS dollar while the fare for a distance of up to 40km has been reduced to 1 RTGS dollar from 2 RTGS dollars. (The Herald)
-- The Zimbabwe government, in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC), has launched copies of the Constitution of Zimbabwe that have been translated into 15 indigenous languages as a way of enhancing justice and democracy through universal access to the supreme law of the land.
The Constitution of Zimbabwe, which was signed into law in 2013, was previously only found in English, Shona and Ndebele but the ZCBC has now translated it into 12 other vernacular languages to enable every citizen to grasp its contents using their own language. (The Herald) Enditem
