JAKARTA -- Indonesian presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday said he rejected the result of the presidential race announced by the country's electoral commission earlier on the day, and will challenge the result in the Constitutional Court.

COLOMBO -- One of the opposition parties in Sri Lanka, the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), on Tuesday handed over a no confidence motion against the Sri Lankan government to Speaker of Parliament Karu Jayasuriya, the Speaker's media unit said here.

SEOUL -- Top diplomats of South Korea and Japan will meet in Paris on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) amid the row over Japan's wartime forced labor during its 1910-45 colonization of the Korean Peninsula, Seoul's foreign ministry said Tuesday.

CANBERRA -- Australian Prime Minister (PM) Scott Morrison has admitted he is not certain that he will be able to deliver his signature tax cuts before the start of the new financial year.

Morrison on Monday morning promised to take swift action to introduce his promised 158 billion Australian dollars (109.3 billion U.S. dollars) in tax cuts after winning Saturday's general election but by Monday night admitted they could be delayed by a year. (Australia-Tax cuts)

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand police filed terrorism charges against Christchurch gunman Brenton Tarrant on Tuesday.

New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush said a charge of engaging in a terrorist act under section 6A of the Terrorism Suppression Act 2002 has been filed.

The charge will allege that a terrorist act was carried out in Christchurch on March 15. The decision came after consultation between the police, the Crown Law office and the Christchurch Crown Solicitors office, the police said. (New Zealand-Christchurch-Charge) Enditem
