RABAT, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan police have arrested in the city of Marrakech a Danish citizen who is subject to an international arrest warrant for alleged criminal cases in his country, the police said in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, the police arrested the 30-year-old Danish citizen for his involvement in a case of fraud, identity theft, illegal entry into Morocco and forgery.

The preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was under a red notice issued by Interpol since November 2018, the statement said.

The suspect was remanded in custody under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, the same source said, adding that the Danish authorities had been informed of his arrest pending the review of the extradition procedure by the Moroccan judicial authorities. Enditem
