Dollar changes hands in lower 109 yen zone in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, May 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Monday, largely in line with its levels in New York late last week.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.39-40 yen, compared with 109.25-35 yen in New York and 109.53-54 yen at 5 p.m. on Friday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1207-1207 dollars and 122.59-63 yen against 1.1199-1209 dollars and 122.42-52 yen in New York, and 1.1188-1189 dollars and 122.54-58 yen in late Friday afternoon trade in Tokyo. Enditem
