KABUL, May 27 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 people were wounded after a bomb blast struck a government workers' bus in Afghan capital on Monday, a security official confirmed.

"A sticky bomb attached to a mini-bus carrying employees of Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs was detonated in Baraki neighborhood, Police District 2 roughly at 7:45 a.m. local time. The initial information found 10 people aboard the bus were wounded," said a police officer who requested anonymity.

More details would be made public later as investigation is underway, the source added.

The blast shattered the front part of the bus and all glasses of the vehicle were smashed.

Further details about the incident are still forthcoming amid the absence of official statement.

Security forces have cordoned off the area for precautionary measures.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Over the past months, Afghanistan has witnessed waves of terror attacks by Taliban insurgents and Islamic State outfit opposing the government.

About seven police officers and two religious scholars lost their lives in separate attacks within the past 10 days in Kabul. Enditem
