KUWAIT CITY, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will lead a delegation to Mecca for three Arab and Islamic summits, the Kuwait News Agency reported on Wednesday.

Saudi Arabia is hosting an emergency Gulf Cooperation Council summit, an emergency Arab summit, and the 14th ordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia has invited Gulf and Arab countries to attend the first two summits.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry earlier said that the two summits aim to negotiate and coordinate reinforcement of regional security and stability.

The summits would discuss latest regional developments, including the recent attacks on commercial ships near the United Arab Emirates' territorial waters and two oil-pumping stations in Saudi Arabia. Enditem
