British stocks up 0.46 pct

LONDON, May 30 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.46 percent, or 32.86 points, to close at 7,218.16 points.

Rightmove, a UK-based online real estate portal company, soared 3.33 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Standard Life Aberdeen and Halma increased by 2.95 percent and 2.92 percent, respectively.

Marks & Spencer Group, a major British multinational retailer, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.70 percent. National Grid, a British multinational electricity and gas utility company, dropped 4.63 percent. Johnson Matthey, a global science and chemicals company, fell 4.33 percent. Enditem
