BEIJING -- Chinese President Xi Jinping and Malaysian King Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah on Friday exchanged congratulations on the 45th anniversary of their countries' diplomatic relations.

LONDON -- The British government has announced it wants to extend its tough ivory law by adding other ivory bearing species, including hippos, walruses and some of the whale family to the protection list.

The government launched Thursday a call for evidence on the subject.

RIYADH -- The Arab League and the Gulf Cooperation Council on Thursday called on Iran to reconsider its role in the region, Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
