NEW DELHI -- Bodies of five mountaineers out of the total eight who went missing nearly 10 days ago in India's northern hilly state of Uttarakhand, have been spotted, official sources confirmed on Monday.

According to sources, a team of rescuers onboard an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter spotted the bodies of the five mountaineers who were apparently trapped in an avalanche near an unnamed peak adjoining the "Nanda Devi East" peak on Monday. (India-Mountaineer-Death)

TOKYO -- The promotion event of the 20th Conference of the Overseas Chinese Scholars, known as "CHINAOCS Preparatory Week," was held in Tokyo on Monday along with the establishment of Tokyo representative office, the sixth of its kind set up overseas.

Zeng Bo, member of the standing committee of the Dalian municipal committee of the Communist Party of China, said at the meeting that the establishment of Tokyo representative office will offer help to Chinese overseas students in Japan in terms of integrating themselves into the development of China. NEW DELHI -- The wreckage of the missing "AN-32" aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) that went missing on Monday has not been sighted so far, said an official statement issued by the Ministry of Defence.

A total of eight aircrew and five passengers were onboard the aircraft and search operations from air and by ground parties of the Indian Army are planned to continue through the night, according to the statement. (India Missing Plane)

COLOMBO -- Three ministers and five deputy and state ministers resigned from their portfolios in Sri Lanka on Monday to pave way for an impartial investigation into the Easter Sunday terror attacks which killed over 250 people.
