BEIRUT, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Three members of Lebanon security force were killed and another civilian was wounded on Monday in armed attacks in Lebanon's northern city of Tripoli.

A security source told Xinhua that the gunmen clashed with a patrol of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces at the entrance to the city, which led to the fall of a security member, injury of another and the burning of one of their vehicle.

Another group of gunmen threw a sound bomb at the government headquarters in Tripoli, wounding one civilian, the source added.

Lebanese National News Agency reported that another member of the Internal Security Forces died from injuries sustained in the attacks, bringing the death toll to two.

At the same time, the Lebanese Army announced the death of one of the military and injuring others in three attacks.

Abdel Rahman Mabsout fired on Monday evening at a branch of the Banque du Liban in the Tripoli area and a center of the internal security forces in Tripoli government headquarters, in addition to a military vehicle belonging to the Lebanese Army, resulting in the death of one of the military and injuring others, according to the statement.

A Lebanese security source told Xinhua that the armed group had been besieged inside the two housing buildings, while the army forces cordoned off a third building.

The army and the Internal Security Forces in the city have been mobilized and begun a large-scale search, added the source. Enditem
