JAKARTA, June 4 (Xinhua) -- A man who has been influenced by the IS terrorist group exploded bombs tied with him outside a police station in Indonesia's Central Java province before midnight on Monday, national police spokesman Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo said Tuesday.
The suicide attack took place less than two weeks after the police lifted terror alert status in the country's capital as militants had plotted to launch suicide strikes during the presidential poll result announcement day.
The bomber detonated the bombs at 22:30 p.m. local time outside the station for controlling traffic located at Simpang Tiga Tugu Kartasura of Sukoharjo district, the spokesman said. The bomber was wounded while no others were affected.
"Based on investigation, the perpetrator has been influenced by the IS teachings," he told a press conference.
A further investigation is being carried out to find out whether the bomber has links with a terrorist cell or a network operating in the country, said Prasetyo. Enditem
