LONDON, June 4 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.41 percent, or 29.49 points, to close at 7,214.29 points.

Standard Life Aberdeen, an investment company, soared 5.36 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Aviva and Imperial Brands increased by 3.65 percent and 3.58 percent, respectively.

Ocado Group, an online grocer, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 5.04 percent. Hargreaves Lansdown, a financial service company, dropped 4.58 percent. Pearson, a British multinational publishing and education company, fell 2.76 percent. Enditem
