LUSAKA, June 5 (Xinhua) -- The following are major news items in Zambia major media outlets on Wednesday.

-- Zambian President said the government's decision to liquidate Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) is final and assured that the mining unit will be kept afloat while looking for a suitable investor.

Lungu said the government was resolved and determined to continue with the liquidation process of the mine because that was what the people wanted. (Times of Zambia)

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu says he was impressed with the level of innovation shown by public agencies and enterprises.

Lungu said most public enterprises were doing well and recording growth but added that more needed to be done. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The manufacturing sector in Zambia has been producing high quality products as evidenced by the local companies which made it to the top 25 most admired entities for 2019 in Africa.

Zambia Association of Manufacturers president Roseta Chabala said the recognition of 25 Zambian firms by the African Business Magazine was an indication that the country was producing high quality products which could compete at regional level. (Daily Nation)
