SINGAPORE, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.12 percent, or 3.81 points, to close at 3,146.18.
A total of 1.14 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.54 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.13 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 222 to 168.
The STI index went up 0.61 percent, or 18.91 points, to close at 3,142.37 Tuesday. There was no trading Wednesday as it was a public holiday. Enditem
