WHO condemns attacks on field hospitals in Libya's Tripoli

TRIPOLI, June 7 (Xinhua) -- The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday condemned the attacks on two field hospitals in the south of Libya's capital Tripoli, as the fighting between the east-based army and the UN-backed government continues.
"Armed conflict is endangering health care in Tripoli. Two field hospitals, one in Swani, one in Ain Zara, were struck yesterday," WHO tweeted.
One of the attacks injured a doctor and two paramedics, WHO said.
The Libyan government accused the rival army of targeting the two field hospitals, condemning the international silence regarding the army's attacks on "civilian installations".
The army, led by Khalifa Haftar, has been leading a military campaign since early April to take over Tripoli from the government.
According to the WHO, the fighting has so far killed more than 600 people and injured over 3,000 others.
The army is allied with the east-based government, as Libya is politically divided between eastern and western governments. Enditem
