OTTAWA, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Two Canadian women abducted last week in Ghana have now been rescued, Canada's television network CTV reported on Wednesday.
The rescue operation was completed early Wednesday in the south-central region of the African country, said the report, without giving further details.
The two Canadian women, one aged 19 and the other 20, are volunteers for Youth Challenge International, a Toronto-based non-governmental organization operating in Ghana.
Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has vowed to crack down on kidnappers amid fears abductions could harm the country's tourism, CTV reported. Enditem
