Vietnam raises reference exchange rate

HANOI, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's central bank on Monday adjusted up its reference exchange rate between Vietnamese dong and U.S. dollar by 10 Vietnamese dong to 23,069 Vietnamese dong per U.S. dollar.

With the current trading band of plus or minus 3 percent, the ceiling exchange rate is 23,761 Vietnamese dong per U.S. dollar, and the floor rate is 22,376 Vietnamese dong per U.S. dollar, said the State Bank of Vietnam.

Listed rates at big commercial banks went up from last week. BIDV raised the rates by 15 Vietnamese dong to 23,280 Vietnamese dong per U.S. dollar for buying and 23,400 Vietnamese dong per U.S. dollar for selling.

Vietcombank increased the rates by 5 Vietnamese dong to 23,265 Vietnamese dong per U.S. dollar for buying and 23,385 Vietnamese dong per U.S. dollar for selling.

Last week, the reference exchange rates saw two ups and three downs with total magnitude of 11 Vietnamese dong and 10 Vietnamese dong, respectively. Enditem
